There are 2 types of cinnamon for your choice including Cassia cinnamon and Ceylon cinnamon:

Cassia cinnamon is frequently found and sold in most supermarkets. The price of Cassia cinnamon stick is quite cheap. This cinnamon type comes from Vietnam, China or Indonesia and is widely used to make cinnamon tea.

Ceylon cinnamon is also called “true cinnamon”. The insides of Ceylon cinnamon sticks are thin with numerous layers swirling together in a pale brown tint colour. It’s expensive and more difficult to come by in supermarkets. People prefer it because of its milder and more delicate flavour.

2 ways of making cinnamon tea

By pot
Step 1: Pour water to the pot, add the cinnamon sticks, and set the pot on the stove.
Step 2: When the water boils, reduce to a low heat, then simmer the tea for about 15 minutes.
Step 3: Pour the cinnamon tea into the cup. Add the tea bag and steep it for 1-2 minutes
Step 4: Put the tea bag out and enjoy your cinnamon tea! If desired, you can serve the tea with sugar.

By tea kettle
Step 1: Pour water into the tea kettle. Heat the water up in it
